You heard it here first: Consecon is Prince Edward County’s next IT spot. Why? It’s the closest part of the County to Toronto, and it still feels like a fishing village. While that means it’s still early days in its transition into a cool spot, it also means AFFORDABILITY.

Nestled in between Lake Consecon, Weller’s Bay and the Loyalist Parkway (highway 33), part of Consecon sits in the Hillier Ward and part in the Ameliasburgh ward. While it may be going through an exciting time of growth today, Consecon is far from a new community. In fact, the village of Consecon was established in the early 1800’s (though Champlain slept here back in the 1600’s). With its early manufacturing and industrial roots, Consecon played an important role in rum running during prohibition days.

Consecon offers potential home buyers and investors tons of opportunities to get in early. There’s a convenience store, LCBO, post office and a few dining establishments too including Stratos Pizzeria.

Real Estate in Consecon

If you’re looking to get into the County and don’t have a huge budget, Consecon is the place to be. With waterfront properties to be had in the high $400’s, there are plenty of affordable seasonal and year-round options, from bungalows, war-time starter houses and cottages. In the main village, you’ll find city-sized lots (50 x200) starting in the $200’s, and outside of the main area, there are farmhouses on big lots.  There are plenty of opportunities here to buy and renovate…propertunities, anyone?

With easy access to the 401, the amenities in Trenton and just a 15-minute drive to the wineries and trendiness of Wellington, Consecon is in a prime location to be the next hot area.
